I read the news today, oh boy… Leí hoy las noticias, oh chico,
about a lucky man who made the grade…. sobre un afortunado hombre que alcanzó su meta,
and though the news was rather sad… y aunque las noticias eran bastante tristes,
well I just had to laugh…..apenas me dio por reír.
I saw the photograph…… vi la fotografía.
He blew his mind out in a car…… Se voló el cerebro en su coche,
he didn't notice that the lights had changed…no se dio cuenta que las luces habían cambiado,
a crowd of people stood and stared…. una multitud se quedó allí mirando,
they'd seen his face before….habían visto su cara antes,
nobody was really sure…..nadie está seguro,
if he was from the House of Lords…si era alguien de la Cámara de los Lores.
I saw a film today, oh boy…Vi una película hoy, oh chico,
the English Army had just won the war…. el ejército inglés acababa de ganar la guerra,
a crowd of people turned away…..la muchedumbre giró la cara
but I just had to look………….pero yo tuve que mirar,
having read the book……leyendo el libro,
I'd love to turn you on…...Me gustaría girarte…
Woke up, fell out of bed…….. Desperté, me caí de la cama,
dragged a comb across my head…me pasé el peine por la cabeza,
found my way downstairs and drank a cup…encontré el camino para bajar y bebí una taza,
and looking up I noticed I was late…y mirando arriba noté que era tarde.
Found my coat and grabbed my hat…Encontré mi capa y cogí el sombrero
made the bus in seconds flat …llegué al autobús en segundos
found my way upstairs and had a smoke…encontré mi forma de subir y tenía un cigarro
somebody spoke and I went into a dream…alguien habló y entré en un sueño.

four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire… cuatro mil agujeros en Blackburn, Lancanshire
and though the holes were rather small….y aunque los agujeros eran pequeños
they had to count them all……………..tuvieron que contarlos todos
now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall…ahora saben cuantos agujeros hacen falta para llenar el Albert Hall,
