Nace en 1934 en Montreal el poeta, novelista y cantante Leonard Norman Cohen.
Sus referencias en la música son el amor, la religión, el sexo, la depresión y la misma música. Su voz es peculiarmente grave.
Suzzane es la primera canción de Cohen que atrae la atención del gran público y en ella mezcla el amor con la meditación religiosa. (RAE, Religar: volver a atar, ceñir más estrechamente...)
En “Famous Blue Raincoat” Leonard nos habla desde su perspectiva como un hombre al que se la ha roto su matrimonio debido a la infidelidad de su esposa con un amigo de él, al cual le escribe la canción…
