An old man by a seashore-Un hombre viejo por una orilla del mar
at the end of day-cuando acaba el día
gazes the horizon-mira el horizonte
with seawinds in his face-con algas en su cara,
tempest-tossed island-tempestades en la isla,
seasons all the same-todas las estaciones son iguales
anchorage unpainted-ancladero sin pintar,
and a ship without a name.--y una barco sin nombre.
Sea without a shore for the banished one unheard--Mar sin orilla de los desterrados que no se los oye,
he lightens the beacon, light at the end of world-- el faro que ilumina, luz al final del mundo,
showing the way lighting hope in their hearts-mostrando el camino de la esperanza en sus corazones,
the ones on their travels homeward from afar.-los que en sus viajes regresan a casa desde lejos.
This is for long-forgotten--->Esto es para olvidarlo en el tiempo
light at the end of the world-la luz al final del mundo
horizon crying-el horizonte está llorando
the tears he left behind long ago.las lágrimas que dejó atrás hace mucho tiempo.
The albatross is flying-El albatros vuela
making him daydream-haciéndole soñar despierto,
the time before he became-el tiempo antes de transformarse,
one of the world`s unseen-perdiendo el mundo de vista,
princess in the tower-princesa en la torre,
children in the fields-niños en el campo,
life gave him it all:-la vida le dio todo,
an island of the universe.-una isla del universo.
Now his love`s a memory-Ahora su amor es un recuerdo,
a ghost in the fog--un fantasma en la niebla,
he sets the sails one last time-él pone las velas por ultima vez
saying farewell to the world--->diciendo adiós al mundo,
anchor to the water-ancla al agua
seabed far below-por debajo de los fondos marinos,
grass still in his feet-la hierba aún en sus pies
and a smile beneath his brow.-y una sonrisa bajo su ceja.
